Lending a pristine and minimal element to Design – Rohit Bhoite

An architect’s delight that allows you to experience the lifestyle of the client principally through the design.

With a Master’s Degree from Domus Academy Spa, Italy and a graduate from Interior Designing from Rachna Sansad, School of Interior Design, Rohit Bhoite has been a visiting faculty for the past 4 years. After working for a few years with acclaimed studios in Italy and in Mumbai, Rohit started his own organization the Rohit Bhoite Designs, in 2013. Rohit Bhoite Design specializes in interiors of High-end Luxurious apartments, Hospitality, Furniture Design and Styling.

Here the designer shares his experience of designing a residential project – Bandra Elegancy with Gallopper.

A bachelor’s pad had to be converted into a couple’s heaven. The client, a businessman needed a place to entertain his guests while the lady of the house, a makeup artist, needed it to be stylish. The most important factor was to spill their personalities through the design, which needed to be young and zesty. Thus the challenge was to model a space to live, allowing an outlet to express the clients’ true personas. This eventually resulted in collecting elements that are authentic to the individuality of both the persons’ and creating a space that becomes a story.

The design lends a pristine and minimal element adding to a quirky yet soft and feminine decor. The concept played out was to indulge in a Scandinavian styled décor. An attempt was made to establish and define a style in proportions and details which manifested in the eclectic use of textures and colors.

An impressively large room reflects its air of massiveness with its every detail of styling. The user then embarks upon an exercise in experiencing the pristine space created by the designer. The urge to embellish, is unleashed in a highly personalized and eclectic manner, showcasing an artistic look in the bedroom. The luxury of defining ones individuality has now been shifted from the exterior to the interiors. The ceiling light in the living area complimented with a classy look that partially peeps out reveals in the extension as a collective realm of the room design. The house was to carter to the luxurious life style. The need of the hour was to customize and create and ready mades would just not work here.

What one sees now is a rather diverse and soothing environment; an emulative modern example where individual elements like the side table furniture for the room, designed flooring, wardrobe shutter pattern, bed were crafted by the designer.

These individual elements developed amorphous spatial patterns owing to an intricate ordering mechanism, articulated elements and profuse ornamentation. The design very well justifies the dichotomy of indulgence of home as a place of comfort and as a trend of style perceptible from unique embellishments defining both the clients’ individuality.

As the design evolves, interior references become more stylized, but it showcases a meaning to its inhabitants because of its charming simplicity. The concept of style provides an appropriate language, representing a homogeneous and identifiable set of characteristics which is seen vividly across the designed space.
