“Every person needs to be financially literate” – Ketan Sonalkar

“Every person needs to be financially literate to take appropriate financial decisions affecting their lives and businesses” believes Ketan Sonalkar.

An architect with a degree from the premier institute, Sir J.J.College of Architecture Ketan Sonalkar also coupled his education with an MBA(Finance) from Welingkar Institute of Management, Mumbai. He has over 15 years of working experience. Starting out as an Architect purely working with a Design firm he moved on to work as a Project Manager with an International Project Management Consultancy for a couple of years. Following this he worked with a major retail chain for setting up Hypermarkets across India.

While he started taking up independent projects a few years ago, he completed his MBA. This was when he realized that some of his projects were not really profitable. This combined with a flair for Finance and Investing led him onto a path of discovery that Designers and most other professionals are often far removed from Finance and are often unable  to take sound financial decisions for their own projects and businesses. Not only this, but he also felt that many a times Finance professionals do not understand the intricacies of a design and other professionals’ business leading to unsatisfactory advice.

Ketan 2To address this need Ketan has devised various modules of workshops helping professionals understand Finance for their businesses which have been extremely well received across industry circles.

Besides this he has also been conducting many other workshops in Finance ranging from topics as wide as Stock Market Investing to Technical Analysis. Some are conducted as an Independent Training Professional while the others are under the platform of “Precision Investment Services” a Financial Services Company wherein Ketan is one of the stakeholders.

He is also an avid blogger and has been writing blogs on Finance for the past couple of years which have been widely appreciated.

Ketan 3Ketan opines, “There is a huge Knowledge gap in the system which needs to be filled”. Over the past 2 years he was instrumental in conducting over 35 workshops across India ranging from Mumbai, Delhi, Cochin and Bangalore and has helped guide and shared Knowledge with over 2000 people till date.

According to Ketan,“People do so much research for buying a phone, if only they do half as much for evaluating Financial products and services, it would save them a lot of pain in the long run.”

Gallopper is proud to present a workshop “Building Blocks to Financial Freedom” on October 9th 2015 at BKC in Mumbai.
